Abstract

|
Oidium oxalidis McAlp., a powdery mildew fungus new to Korea, was found on the natural host plant Oxalis corniculata L.Mycelial density was evanescent, amphigenous and especially epiphyllous on both side of the leaf. The morphological characteristics of the imperfect state were examined. The conidia were ellipsoid-lemon shaped with an average diameter of 33¡¿15§. They were lack of conspicuous fibrosin bodies. Production of germ tubes was on the end of conidia. Microconidia production was not observed. The conidiophores produced conidia singly. The length of conidiophores ranged 75¡150§. Very slender hyphae of 3¡5§ were typical. The appressoria on the hyphae were multilobed. No perfect state was found in Korea.
